About Me:
My name is John McGuckian. I am a 21 year old student living in Bristol, where I study French and Business. I grew up in Portstewart, Co. Derry in the north of Ireland. I love to travel, and spent the summer of 2006 travelling across North America (which you can read about in my blog). I hope to have the opportunity to see much more of the world in the next few years.
Besides travelling, I have many varied interests including reading & writing, sports (football, Gaelic football, tennis, badminton, etc..), music and television. My favourite authors are Conn Iggulden and Amitav Ghosh, although I enjoy all kinds of fiction. I like watching programmes such as Mock the Week, The Apprentice, Strictly Come Dancing and Match of the Day. I'm a keen supporter of Manchester United Football Club and Derry GAA.
My computers run Ubuntu Linux and I browse the web with Firefox. I am a member of the LittleWhiteDog internet community and I moderate the Linux forum on Littleblackdog.com.
